View looking east southeast at 8:00 PM (SkyChart III). Mars (Mag -1.6 in Aries), joined my a full Moon, rises an hour before sunset and is a bright orange "star" visible in the east after sunset. It will be high in the southern sky during the late evening and early morning and conspciuous above the eastern horizon before dawn. Mars reached opposition on early November 7. |
