July General Meeting – GMU 7pm

Sunday, July 12, 2015; 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm

Speaker: Philip Graff

Topic: The production and effects of gravitational waves

Location: Research Hall, Room 163

Meeting Logistics: Paid parking is available in the Shenandoah Parking Deck (formerly Sandy Creek Parking Deck), which is behind the building. Please enter at the back side of the building which is in front of the round-about in front of the parking garage. The parking lot is on Sandy Creek Way off of Patriot Circle.

Meetings are on the second Sunday of every month (except for May when it conflicts with Mother’s Day). If you come earlier you can do a little socializing. The first part of the meeting is club business, during which the officers make reports about their activities and areas of responsibility.

The final part of the meeting is a program, usually by one of the members, but sometimes by “outside experts”. We’ve had presenters from all aspects of Astronomy and former Astronauts.

There’s a good deal of socializing before and after meetings, allowing members to put faces with the voices they’ve heard in the dark.

Meetings begin promptly at 7pm. General membership meetings are open to the public, and are held at (room change) Research Hall, room 163 on the campus of George Mason University (directions) in Fairfax, Virginia.
