We hope that you’ll be able to attend this month’s general meeting, to be held at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, May 4 in Research Hall Room 163 on the GMU campus. NOVAC meetings are open to the public; guests and interested members of the public are warmly welcomed.

PLEASE NOTE that this is a departure from our usual second-Sunday-of-the-month meeting schedule. We’ve learned over the years that Mother’s Day is a lousy time to hold a meeting.

Our guest speaker this month is Gary Hand, who will be speaking on “Amateur Astronomy: 1994, Today, and 2034.” Gary owns and operates Hands on Optics in Damascus, MD, so he has an interesting vantage point from which to consider the evolution of our hobby.

All are welcome to attend our informal pre-meeting dinner. We’ll meet at Brion’s Grille (in University Mall across from GMU at 10621 Braddock Rd) at 5:30 p.m. The pre-meeting dinner is an excellent way to meet other club members, welcome newcomers, and renew old friendships.

We hope to see you Sunday!
