The 35th Annual NOVAC Star Gaze: Saturday, October 21

sky

Join the Northern Virginia Astronomy Club for Star Gaze at C.M. Crockett Park on October 21, 2017 from 3 pm to 11 pm!

You don’t need any astronomy experience or equipment at all to enjoy Star Gaze. Enjoy the wonderful views of the landscape and night sky from one of our local dark sky sites. The program features solar observing through safe filters; telescopes to learn about and look through when the stars come out; and presentations about astronomy, space exploration, and the night sky. Head over to our Star Gaze page for the full schedule.

The presentation portion is rain or shine. Presentations cover a range of topics in amateur and professional astronomy and are generally appropriate for all ages. Younger children might appreciate our field events, though, which are more interactive and hands-on. Evening and solar observing is weather-permitting, but we can observe under even partly cloudy skies!

Entrance to the park ends at 9pm, no exceptions! C.M. Crockett Park charges $7 per vehicle if you’re not a Fauquier County resident or NOVAC member, but the event itself is completely free.

We hope to see you out under the clear sky!
