NOVAC tops 1,000 members!

NOVAC hit a milestone last month, and has grown to a community of more than 1,000 members of all level (novice to expert) who share diverse interests in astronomy! Our members, old and new, beginner and experienced, continue support each other’s shared interests and take advantage of NOVAC’s:

  • Access to dark sky sites for observing
  • Monthly meetings with speakers from institutions like NSF, NASA and the Smithsonian
  • Library of loaner telescopes to borrow and try out
  • Community of astrophotographers
  • Email discussion list open to any astronomy topics, stories, successes, advice, etc

We’re excited to see this growth, and invite anyone with who is curious about the sky or interested in astronomy to join us!

I’m so very pleased and proud that our astronomy club has reached this milestone number. Certainly it is in large part because of our motto, “To observe and help others observe.” Keep it up gang!

I am so proud of our organization. It means so much more to me than a club. Every night as I look up at the sky and have others looking to see what I see, I talk about our NOVAC. I post about us on my neighborhood website. I hope our membership will double by next year on Oct 04, 2021. I also want us to continue allowing members to access our meetings on line. Space is the future for our young people so I hope all of us will show our young how looking up makes us so happy. Loving space is truly contagious.
