This stunning image of the Horsehead Nebula was captured by NOVAC member Jeff McFarlin. Jeff writes:

The Horsehead Nebula (also known as Barnard 33) is a small dark nebula in the constellation Orion, and is part of the much larger Orion Molecular Cloud Complex. The Horsehead Nebula is approximately 422 parsecs or 1,375 light-years from Earth.

This is about 25 hours total exposure time using RGB and hydrogen alpha filters, taken from our observatory in January and February of this year.
