Our next meeting will be Sunday evening, December 10, 7:00 pm, in Room #163 in Research Hall on the campus of George Mason University, with dinner at Red Hot and Blue, and will be a little different from other meetings this past year.
During the business meeting we will hold elections for club offices. Candidate nominations have been received for all but the office of Vice President. If you wish to run for one of the officer or trustee positions, please self-nominate by emailing your desire to do so at this email address: elections at novac.com
During the second half of the meeting, in lieu of a speaker, we will have an equipment “show and tell” event and a “swap table.”
Show and Tell: We are looking for members to bring equipment they use to observe and to be available to to talk with people about how and why they use what they have for observing. Consider sending an email to the NOVAC listserv to let folks know what you’ll bring. If you are setting up equipment to show, remember to bring whatever you use to power your equipment and please try to arrive between 6:15 and 6:45 to set things up so that the meeting can still begin on time.
Swap Table: Do you have eyepieces you don’t use any more? Mounting rings, binoculars, thumb screws for finder scopes that are unloved and looking for a new home? Bring them for the swap table and offer them to a new home. You can trade things, sell things, or give them away – that’s up to you.
DINNER: Our traditional, 5:30 pm, pre-meeting dinner will be at Red Hot & Blue this month. The address is 4150 Chain Bridge Rd, Fairfax, VA 22030.
We hope to see you and your show and tell goodies there,
