NOVAC’s general meeting will be held on the campus of George Mason University on Sunday, June 14th. We will meet in Research Hall Room 163 at 7:00 p.m.
In addition to our regular business topics, I am pleased to announce that our recent Science Fair Award recipients, Medha Uppal and Lara Kornblut, will be joining us at our meeting. They will give a short presentation on their award winning project: The Effect of Geomagnetic Storms in the Ionosphere on Location Accuracy of GPS. Beforehand Ms. Uppal and Ms. Kornblut, each will be receiving a $1,000.00 college scholarship from our NOVAC College Scholarship Fund in recognition of their outstanding original research.
Our guest speaker this month will be D. J. Pisano. The topic will be: The Evolution of Galaxies.
Also, I’d like to extend an invitation to everyone to join us at our usual pre-meeting dinner this month. We’ll meet at Brion’s Grille (in University Mall across from GMU at 10621 Braddock Rd) on Sunday at 5:30 p.m. The pre-meeting dinner is an excellent way to meet other club members, welcome newcomers, and renew old friendships.
I hope to see you there!
Clear skies,
Terry
