Cancelled – C.M. Crockett Public Night and Messier Marathon @ C.M. Crockett Park
Mar 12 @ 6:00 pm – 11:00 pm

Unfortunately tonight’s public night is canceled, the third cancelled Crockett Public Night in a row.  The astronomy forecast predicts 70 percent or more cloud cover and the local forecast is cloudy with a 20% chance of showers or drizzle.  Not acceptable conditions; nobody wants precipitation on lenses, mirrors or electronics.

Hoping for clear skies next month and many days before and after.

Cancelled – C.M. Crockett Public Night @ C.M. Crockett Park
Apr 30 @ 6:00 pm – 11:00 pm

Just to make it official. Clear Sky Chart says there might be a slight break in the overcast around 21:00 but otherwide overcast. The local forecast is mostly cloudy with a 20 to 30 percent chance of measurable precipitation this evening. Although I haven’t checked this morning, the field is likely soggy, too. Not a suitable evening for public observing..

Hoping for great conditions for Astronomy Day,
