Meadowkirk Memorandum of Agreement

NOVAC members are welcome to use Meadowkirk for observing but must comply with the conditions stated in the MOA.  Explicit instructions:

  1. Waiver/release must be signed and returned to Meadowkirk as instructed on last page of MOA.
  2. Explicit permission is required for each visit.  Send request via phone or text to Timothy Sipols (listed on waiver).  Upon receiving permission you may observe on the night requested.  If you believe you will be staying the entire night make sure you request that as well.
  3. Once you arrive on site, send arrival text to Timothy.  When departing, send departing send text to Timothy.   Please don’t forget these texts!
  4. Maintain a copy of you NOVAC Observing Pass and your signed Meadowkirk release with you (glove box).
  5. Two NOVAC-affiliated adults (members or guests) must be present to observe.

It is essential we follow these criteria to maintain our agreement with Meadowkirk.  Our observing location is located at the Brinton Observatory field.  You may park on the field in an orderly fashion ideally with headlights facing the main road to make for an orderly exit and for good night-seeing protocol.

Meadowkirk is located near Middleburg VA. From Rte 50 make a right turn onto Snickersville Tpke after Aldie. Go 4 1/2 miles then turn right onto Lime Kiln. The Meadowkirk entrance is 1/4 mile on right.
